Tip of the day: Assemble a flat-pack cupboard without the frustration

Most flat-pack problems come from rushing the first ten minutes.

How to do it

1. Unpack on a blanket or the empty box so panels do not scratch.
2. Count the fittings against the list and sort them into cups or a muffin tin.
3. Read through all the steps once before you start. Check which way the finished edges must face.
4. Hand-tighten everything first. Only do the final tightening once the carcass is square.
5. Fix tall cupboards to the wall with the anti-tip bracket.

Pro tip: Measure both diagonals of the carcass. When they are equal, it is square and the doors will hang straight.

Safety first: Always use the wall anchor on tall units, especially with children in the house.
