Fine cracks are normal as buildings move. Fill them properly and they will not come straight back.
How to do it
- Open the crack into a small V with a scraper so the filler has something to grip.
- Brush out the dust and dampen the crack lightly.
- Press in flexible crack filler, slightly overfilled.
- Once dry, sand smooth, prime and paint.
Pro tip: Cracks wider than 5 mm, cracks that keep growing, or diagonal cracks from door and window corners can mean structural movement. Get them looked at.
